Last weekend saw the first of the Wagon Wheel Roundups for this year and it was so lovely to see so many people from class there, enjoying themselves and putting their learning into practice on the dancefloor. And making new friends too. It was lovely for me to see lots of old pals too. It made me very aware of how many friendships we have formed through line dancing and I hope this will be the case for you too. It's great that a number of you are going to other classes too, so learning different dances and getting more experience.
The next weekender is 28th and 29th April with John Permenter (fiddle player - does an awesome Devil Went Down to Georgia) and Texas Gun, who I've not seen for a while. George has a fantastic voice, his was one of the 3 cd's I bought during lockdown. Certainly a weekend to look forward to.
In the meantime, Swansea Country Music Club should be back on this month. I've yet to see any details but I'm sure they will be out soon. If you fancy a more line dance focused night out (rather than country music focused) Jenni Bradshaw does some socials at JKs in Briton Ferry, as does Andrew Hayes and Anne John does a social once a month down in Pyle. Also, if you're prepared to travel, there are socials in the Merthyr and Cardiff areas too. I can't find any details on the ELD website for those, so if I see anything on facebook, I'll let you know.
Holiday dates are on the classes page.
Keep dancing xx
