Hi all
Just to say a quick update - classes continue as normal until August, when we're away for a fortnight so none on 5th, 7th 12th and 14th. Then we will be back! We have finally had our hard copy of July's issue of LineDancer Magazine, so look forward to handing that around classes. Our dance, Helluva Life has gone from No 9 to No 3 in a few weeks. (We actually made it to number 1 until another choreographer updated her votes) needless to say: we need your votes - please go online and do it!!! I have been asked to teach at the Hogshead event at the end of August and am very excited by the prospect, although my best wishes go to the usual teacher who is suffering from poor health and into who's boots I am stepping. If you can make it along, even for a day, I would greatly appreciate your support. Please email me/message/ text or call for more info. I had a great time last week teaching a massive gang of French and Spanish students to line dance. It was really hard work, especially in the heat we had, but soooo much fun!! And then we went to Welshpool - all I can say is, if you haven't already tried it, please do, it was awesome!! Hi all
Just a quick message to those of you who come to Manselton on Thursdays. Please bring an additional pair of socks with you - all will become clear...!! In the meantime however, please bring an extra pair of socks with you to put OVER your shoes. The line dance community suggest this is a way of solving the problem of tacky floors, though we will have to see how slippy it is to dance in socks! See you all soon x Morning everyone!
The last few weeks have seen a few new beginners join us, and they are doing brilliantly! It is so exciting seeing the classes growing, meeting new people, making new friends and seeing them enjoy learning to dance. Well done all the newbies, you doing great!! There are a couple of socials on this weekend; Gaynor has one on Friday 4th July at Seven Sisters with an American theme. And Joe and Mo have Cheyenne on Saturday 5th in Pontardawe. Info is on Hank's site (link on the events page) but do call me if you need anymore information (or call the organisers direct, their contact details will be with the details of the event - I am sure they would love to hear from you!) If you can make it, please do come along, even if you know only a few dances, this is a chance to try them out in a social setting and make new friends from other classes in the area. Lots of fun guaranteed. The VERY exciting news is that we are in Linedancer Magazine this month. Steve was as good as his word and put our pic and article in - and we have a dance in the printed Top 10 too! (the 3rd month running). When my copy of the magazine comes, I will bring it to class so you have see for yourselves! On a personal level - yes, she is out and getting better, thank you all for your support during a tough time. Hijinks at the back of the hall are back on the cards as Clive will be returning to classes!! And Clive is a grandad!!! Ethan was born on Monday. Yey!! Right, I am off to town to get a new lead for the speakers that hopefully doesn't make horrible noises..... Looking forward to seeing you all tonight and over the weekend. Keep dancing! Debz x |
