Lots of emails, texts and phone calls and I was over-subscribed by 4 students, so I added another class at 4.45pm to accommodate the extras on the condition that I could find 2 more people to fill it. Those spaces were allocated the same day!
Lots more emails (letters to those without internet) to confirm the offer of spaces, and some of those who had asked to come have found work commitments now won't allow them to do so. So, I've been updating the site on an almost daily basis - No Vacancies/Vacancies, depending on what messages have been received that day.
What I would suggest is, if you have been offered a place and want to take it up, pay for it asap, because if I have to cut a class due to further falling numbers, I will allocate spaces on a first paid basis.
I know I'm not the only teacher who has found the restrictions on space and allocating those to dancers to be a complete headache. It's absolutely no use me putting beginners in with Intermediates, neither dancer would be happy. So everyone has to be offered a level and a time to suit them.
I feel like I have built a house of cards, if one pulls out, the whole thing is likely to fall down!
I've also been looking at the lists of dances we have taught in the past and working out what I can start going over in the classes. I have about 150 dances to remind myself of! Obviously, my shortlist wasn't short enough.
If you want to join us, please get in touch. I can't promise to offer you a space in a class, but if one becomes available before 1st July, it would be good to have a reserve list.
