I am sorry that I have had to disappoint people who wanted to join us. Unfortunately, although restrictions allow for up to 30 people indoors (at time of writing), for exercise (which is what line dancing comes under) we need to restrict the numbers further and then allow for 2m+ distancing. This means that a hall which could, pre-covid, easily accommodate 30, now holds only 6 plus me.
It's a frustration, but no different for me than for most other businesses working under the new guidelines.
I did, briefly, consider trying to find another hall. However, we have been in Manselton Community Centre a long time - 10 years with us teaching and many years before we took over. It's a lovely hall, the floor is fantastic, it has good ventilation, good parking and a space has been kept for us throughout the pandemic, even when I wasn't ready to return to classes for personal reasons. I certainly wouldn't want to lose this space for when things do return to normal, however long that may be.
The restrictions do have positives - smaller classes mean a better teach. I can see everyone's footwork and ensure you have the steps before we move on to the next bit.
So, if I have had to disappoint you, I apologise. No one wants to turn away business and we'd love to be able to see more people on the dancefloor - it's just going to take a while yet.
