Having read the guidance, and despite the fact that if you're in a club or pub life seems to have gone back to normal, my first impressions are that for line dancing, nothing has changed except that the onus is on me, not in law.
As we are exercising without masks, it appears that 2m and increased ventilation are still required. I am trying to get more guidance on this, but that will take time.
For now, as we are right in the middle of a pre-booked block of 4 classes, nothing will change.
With regard to what happens in September, I will let you know as soon as I do.
If you want to join the classes in September, please let me know. I cannot guarantee that there will be space, but if you're on the list, you stand a much better chance of a place.
I don't foresee a situation where it will be "just turn up when you feel like it" for a good while yet.
You may be able to feel my frustration here. It appears I still need to maintain social distancing in an exercise class of sober, sensible and fully vaccinated people, yet we've all seen that is not the case in the hospitality industry. Perhaps I should apply for an alcohol licence! And if this is Alert Level 0, what level do we need to be at to be able to go back to normal?
I just want to say that, despite all these frustrations and the fact that by 9.30pm on a Thursday I'm pretty much on my knees, I'm loving being back in class. The improvement in your abilities in six weeks is fantastic. Although it's difficult teaching without being able to run round to the back, you no longer have Clive to follow and sometimes I do the same dance 4 times in a night, there are some advantages of the smaller classes. You certainly get a more personal teach. Now if only I could find a way for you to all remember your left from your right!
Thank you for your continued support.
