This is a perfect time to join us if you've been wanting to learn to line dance, so please do come along. All you need is a drink and some shoes you can dance in. If you want to bring a friend, great, but we're a friendly bunch so you'll soon have lots of mates in class. You may even bump into people you already know, it's happened before.
On a sad note, we have heard that our predecessor for the Manselton class, Colin, has passed away recently. Clive and I took up the reins from Colin in October 2012, when he decided to retire from teaching line dancing. I was very grateful to have the opportunity to take on this class as a relatively unknown teacher, new to Swansea, and the Manselton class has continued to be the backbone to my teaching in the Swansea area.
I remember feeling extremely nervous teaching in Manselton for the first couple of weeks, even though I had been teaching for several years. It's always strange to learn with a new teacher, we all have our quirks, but the class we "inherited" were so welcoming and so grateful to be able to continue dancing. Our classes continue to have that same welcome today. We originally took over with 15 members and until February 2020, still had 7 of those dancing with us as well as many new members. Unfortunately, several of those original members were not able to return to dancing after the 18 months off in 202/21 but some of you will know of Colin from other classes, our parties or from the local area. I was, and remain, very grateful to Colin for handing over the reins to Clive and myself nearly 10 years ago, thank you.
